In Friday’s Athletic Events.....
The Boys Varsity Water Polo Team (1-0) beat Dr. Krop 14-3. Evan Miller scored three goals and had two assists, Max Possin had two goals and five assists, Leo Blaya and Franco Pastor each had two goals, Thiago Ometto, Kosta Stenin, Simon Stenin, Leni Zenatti, and Leni Saltos, each added one goal, and Rafa Blaya finished with eleven saves. 
 
The Boys Varsity Baseball Team (0-2) lost to Marathon 15-0. Marcus Ferrer played well for the Spartans.
 
The Softball Team (0-1) lost to Oxbridge Academy 16-1. Izzy Amsler was 1 for 2, Mariana Muniz Rodriguez walked twice, and Maggie Houser scored.
 
The Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team (1-2) beat Palmetto Ridge 10-4. Brady Lubetsky led the way with 3 goals and 2 assists, Matthew Scemla had 2 goals and an assist, Marcus Papunen and Adam Traster each had a goal and 2 assists, Jose Francisco added a goal and an assist, Matthew Williamson and Alec Gilderman each scored, and Chase Wolfson and Kalel Charalambides each had an assist.
 
On Saturday.....
The Boys Varsity Water Polo Team (3-0) beat ATM 14-8 and Miami Beach 10-9 in overtime.

Evan Miller finished with four goals and five assists, Max Possin had four goals and two assists, Leo Blaya had two goals and two assists, Thiago Ometto had two goals and one assist, Leni Saltos and Leni Zenatti each added one goal, and Rafa Blaya finished with sixteen saves. 
MCDS 10, MBH 9 (OT)
Evan Miller and Max Possin each finished the game with four goals and one assist. Max recorded the steal, drew the penalty foul, and scored the five meter penalty shot for the sudden death victory. Franco Pastor and Simon Stenin each recorded one goal, Leo Blaya tallied four assists, and Rafael Blaya finished with ten saves. 
 
The Girls Varsity Water Polo Team (2-1) beat Dwyer 16-3, beat ATM 8-3, but lost to Miami Beach 11-9. Valeria Villanueva led the way with 14 goals, 5 assists, 6 steals, Briana Dunn had 6 goals, 7 assists, 11 steals, Isabella Possin added 7 goals, 2 assists, Sienna Kozlovski had 3 goals, 3 assists, 4 steals, Sasha Blasky added 1 goal, 3 assists, Leyla Fernandez had 1 goal, 2 assists, Micah Ressler scored 1 goal, Yaya Carrafelli added3 assists , and Angie Del Guercio-Moran made 17 saves
 
The Girls Junior Varsity Lacrosse Team (0-1) lost to American Heritage-Plantation 7-6. Senaya Miles scored 3 goals, Athena Tolles had 2 goals, and Isabella Alderman scored.
 
The Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team (1-2) lost to American Heritage-Plantation 20-2. Olivia Pelletier had a goal and an assist, and Mikaela Tolles scored.
 
Today.....There are no games or matches scheduled for today.
 
On Tuesday.......the Boys and Girls Varsity Water Polo Teams host Cooper City at 5/6pm, the Girls Middle School and Varsity Tennis Teams travel to Carrollton at 3pm, the Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team hosts University School at 4:30pm, the Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team hosts Coral Reef at 7pm, the Softball Team travels to Palmer-Trinity at 4pm, the Boys Varsity Tennis Team hosts Belen at 4pm, and the Middle School and Varsity Baseball Teams travel to Highlands Christian at 4:30/7pm.
 
Food Trucks.....
 
Fan Bus – Girls Basketball..... On Wednesday, February 28, the Girls’ Basketball Team will play in the state semifinals in Lakeland at 5:00pm. We will be providing fan buses for students and parents at no cost. If the team wins on Wednesday, we will provide another bus for the final game on Friday, March 1.
 
Please email me at kellyc@miamicountryday.org by Tuesday, February 27 at 12:00pm if you would like to go to Wednesday’s game on the bus. Students who sign up will receive a permission slip via My Country Day that they and their parent/ guardian need to sign in order to go.
 
While MCDS is paying for all fan buses and entrance to the game, you may want to bring spending money for snacks. Meals will be covered. 
 
Wednesday’s schedule is as follows:
11:00am:  Depart the CFA parking lot for the Lakeland Center (701 W. Lime Street, Lakeland, Florida 33815, 863-834-8100)
Approximately 3:00pm: Stop in Lakeland Area for late lunch/early dinner
4:15pm: Arrive for tipoff at Lakeland Center
5:00pm: Game 
7:00pm: Leave Lakeland Center

11:30pm: Estimated arrival at Miami Country Day School
 
If the girls win on Wednesday, there will be an additional form for Friday’s bus. 
Everyone – children and adults - needs to sign up. We are assigning seats on a first-come, first served basis, as space is limited. If you want to go, please email me with the first and last names of all the passengers as well as their phone numbers.
