GATEway Service Honduras

GATEway Service: Honduras Nuevo Paraíso Orphanage

GATEway Service brings our students to the Nuevo Paraíso orphanage in Honduras where they not only open up their minds to a new culture but also their hearts. During the 6-day life-changing experience, our GATEmates roll up their sleeves and help the Honduran community with projects that make their life just a little bit better. Students who are interested in hard work and making a difference are encouraged to participate. While you earn an estimated 28 hours of community service, we promise that the smiles of the children you help will be all the reward you need.

Nuevo Paraíso Orphanage – Honduras

Located about an hour outside of Tegucigalpa, Nuevo Paraíso is a rural community of homes, schools, and activity centers for over 100 children.  Originally a small community for single mothers and their children, it has transformed into a large community full of life and children who have been abandoned or orphaned.  Living in a group home with their housemothers, or tías, the children receive schooling, computer and skills training, healthcare, psychological counseling, love and attention.  The goal of Nuevo Paraíso is to prepare each boy and girl to become a model Honduran citizen.

Fees

Fee: $1,595
August 4-9, 2020
 
Fee includes: Round trip airfare on American Airlines (Miami-Tegucigalpa), airport transfers including security, lodging, all meals, daily laundry, 2 Miami Country Day School chaperones, Global Rescue risk mitigation registration.
Not included: Valid passport/visa, any recommended vaccinations or health supplies

Deposit upon registration: $500 (non-refundable)
First payment: $500 by May 1
Balance: $595 by May 29
No refunds granted after May 30.
