I am delighted to welcome you to Miami Country Day School.

Our beautiful 22 acre campus, situated along the Biscayne Canal in the close-knit community of Miami Shores serves as the backdrop for a joyful, purposeful educational experience for over 1250 students from PK3 through 12th grade.

Core to our mission is the belief that a great school values every student, every day, and when you visit our campus, the reality of this principle is palpable. Our gifted and dedicated faculty and staff are not only experts in their fields, they are also committed to helping each young person in their care discover what they are urgently curious about, the impact they can make on their communities, and the creativity that is fundamental to progress.

Our students are engaged scholars, compassionate leaders, athletes of character, and joyful artists. How do we do it?

Every day is filled with experiential and exploratory learning and intellectually challenging coursework including 25 Advanced Placement (AP) courses and 27 Honors courses in our Upper School. Students are exposed to culture and expression through the Arts in our award-winning Center for the Arts, leadership and teamwork on our more than 35 athletic teams, innovation and invention in the Garner Innovation Center where students tinker and create

The 116 members of the Class of 2019 had 517 total college acceptances and will begin the next chapter of their educational journey at over 59 of the finest institutions of higher learning.

Students learn compassion and humility through service. They are encouraged to participate in community service in the Lower School, which leads to a myriad of student driven service projects as they enter Middle and Upper Schools. Upper School students accumulated over 36,000 community service hours last year.

In 2019, Country Day seniors Isabella Allen and Isabella Pedraza won Miami Herald Silver Knight awards in the categories of Athletics and Mathematics, respectively. Country Day was the only private school in Miami-Dade county to have multiple winners. The Miami Herald Silver Knight award recognizes outstanding seniors who have contributed significant service to their schools and communities.

Miami itself is an international city that is a constantly expanding epicenter of culture and business. In the middle of this beautiful and widespread metropolis, Miami Country Day offers families a true sense of community.

I invite you to visit with us on-line or schedule a personalized tour to experience first-hand our warm, engaging, and welcoming community.

I hope to see you on campus soon.

Sincerely,

Mariandl Hufford
