Country Day faculty are the heartbeat of our learning community. 58 members of our faculty have served the school for more than 10 years, and 28 members have served for more than 20 years. 60% of our faculty hold advanced degrees.   • Francesca Bruno - Outdoor Education

    Francesca, known to her students by her camp name, Torreya, is a Miami native who developed a passion for the outdoors during elementary school, when she was active in the Girl Scouts. As Torreya grew, so did her love of nature, and while attending college at Barry University, Torreya began working summers as an outdoor educator in northern Georgia. She also worked as a summer camp counselor at Miami Country Day, and after graduating with a B.A. in Physical Education, Torreya started full time as a first-grade assistant.

    As the founder of Miami Country Day School’s GATEway program, Glen is continually energized, both professionally and personally, by the excitement he sees on our students’ faces when they make the connections between what they have learned in class and what they find in authentic learning environments.
