Board of Trustees

President and Head of School

Mariandl Hufford has spent her career serving independent schools in various capacities. A native speaker of Dutch with an affinity for learning new languages, Mariandl began her career as a Latin teacher. Later, she became a counselor at Woodlynde School in Strafford, PA, an independent, co-educational K-12 school serving students with diverse learning styles. During her tenure at Woodlynde, Mariandl also directed the Support Services department and the Center for Learning, Teaching, and Professional Development.

At The Agnes Irwin School, Mariandl was the founding director of the Center for the Advancement of Girls, a development and research arm of the school. As Assistant Head of School, she assisted with the daily operations of the school, including supervising the directors of equity and inclusion, service learning, and special programs. She also led the Innovation Team and chaired the following committees: Program, Teaching, and Learning, Sabbatical, Speakers, and the Transgender Student Task Force.

As President and Head of School, Mariandl now leads a Country Day community that is grounded in its mission and firmly values every student, every day. It is this deeply held principle that resonates most with Mariandl, as she is committed to improving all student experiences.


Trustees

The Board is the guardian of Miami Country Day School's mission.  It is the Board of Trustee's responsibility to work with the Head of School to ensure that the mission is relevant and vital to our school community and to monitor the success of the school in fulfilling its mission.
