Tuesday, February 13, 2024:
In Friday’s Athletic Action....The Girls Varsity Basketball Team (17-8) beat Westminster Academy in the District Championship 55-30. Kayla Nelms led the way with 23 points, 16 rebounds, and 3 blocks, Sofia Mendez had 11 points and 3 rebounds, Jalynn Belton added 9 points, 7 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals, and Kaliyah Morales had 8 points, 6 assists, 5 steals, and 3 rebounds.
On Saturday.....The Boys Varsity Basketball Team (16-11) lost to Westminster Academy in the District Championship game 76-52. Trey Wilson led the way with 30 points and 17 rebounds.
In Monday’s Athletic Events....The Girls Varsity Tennis Team (3-0) beat Don Soffer Aventura 7-0. Ginger Jacob, Natalia Marquez, Cayenne Petit, Sierra Rosen, and Ariel Aranha-Carvajal all won their singles matches, and Rebecca Apfelbaum and Alexia Peristeris, Alexa Barouh and Lila Erez won their doubles matches. The Boys Varsity Tennis Team (2-0) beat Don Soffer Aventura 6-1. Michael Claramonte, Oscar Bergier, Francisco Apraiz, Felipe Wills, and Ben Lustig won their singles matches, and Michael and Francisco won their doubles match.
Today....The Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team hosts Calvary Christian at 6pm, the Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team travels to Spanish River High School at 6:30pm, and the Middle School Water Polo Team travels to Gulliver at 3pm.
On Wednesday....The Girls Varsity Basketball Team hosts Ransom Everglades in the Regional Quarterfinals at 7pm, the Softball Team travels to Palm Springs North Park for a pre-season game at 4pm, and the Girls and Boys Varsity Tennis and Girls and Boys Middle School Tennis Teams host Palmer-Trinity at 3pm.
