In Thursday’s Athletic Action....
The Girls Varsity Tennis Team (8-1) beat Downtown Doral Academy 7-0 in their annual “Senior Match”. Senior Ginger Jacob, Senior Eliana Shtern, Senior Sierra Rosen, Ariel Aranha-Carvajal, and Alexia Peristeris all won their singles matches, and Eliana Shtern and Rebecca Apfelbaum, Sierra and Cayenne Petit won their doubles matches.
The Boys Varsity Tennis Team (7-1) beat Downtown Doral Charter Academy in their annual “Senior Match” 5-2. Niko Skokna, Oscar Bergier, and Senior Michael Claramonte won their singles matches, and Lucas Bacardi Shriftman and Niko Skokna, Oscar Bergier and Michael Claramonte won their doubles matches.
The Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team (5-6) beat North Broward Prep 8-4. Evan Hurwitz led the way with 3 goals and an assist, Brady Lubetsky scored 3 goals, Oliver Kozlovski and Matthew Scemla each scored, and Marcus Papunen added 3 assists.
The Girls Varsity Water Polo Team (5-7) beat Dr. Krop 14-4 and Pembroke Pines Charter 12-4. Valeria Villanueva led the way with 9 goals, 1 assist, 3 steals, Briana Dunn had 7 goals, 6 assists, 7 steals, Sienna Kozlovski added 4 goals, 3 assists, 5 steals, Isa Possin had 3 goals, 1 assist, 5 steals, Sasha Blasky had 1 goal, 2 assists, 4 steals, Yaya Carafelli added 1 goal, 4 assists, 2 steals, Micah Ressler scored a goal, and Angie Del Guercio-Moran made 12 saves.
The Boys Varsity Water Polo Team (8-6) beat Pembroke Pines Charter 15-6, but lost to St. Thomas Aquinas 7-6. Against St. Thomas, Thiago Ometto scored 3 goals, Max Possin added 2 goals, Franco Pastor scored, and Rafa Blaya made 11 saves.
The Varsity Baseball Team (0-9) lost to Gulliver 13-1. Avery Sinnes was 2 for 3 with an RBI double, and Quinn Smith threw 2 and 2/3 innings, allowing no runs and striking out 3.
Today...... the Girls Varsity Water Polo Team participates in the Pines Charter Tournament, the Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team travels to Ransom Everglades at 4:30pm, the Middle School Baseball Team hosts Westwood Christian at 4pm, and the Varsity Baseball Team hosts Ransom Everglades at 7pm.
On Saturday......The Girls and Boys Varsity Water Polo Teams participate in the Pembroke Pines Tournament, the Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team travels to Belen at 2pm, and the Girls Junior Varsity Lacrosse Team hosts games at 10am/11:30am/1pm.
