Thank you for your interest in Miami Country Day School. We welcome applications for students from three years old* through Upper School.

Once your application is processed, you will receive an email confirmation inviting you to log back in to your “MyCountryDay” portal to obtain your online checklist. This will guide you step-by-step through the admission process which will include the following:

Tour:

Reminder to schedule your child’s on-campus playdate for grades PK3, JK4, and SK5

Access to your Electronic School Recommendation forms
Form to obtain your child’s transcripts that consist of current and one-year previous grades

You will need to create a username and password to access “My Country Day” and submit a $100 application fee.

If applications are completed by January 31, 2020 the admissions decisions will be available on February 28, 2020. 
*Early decisions for PK3, JK4, SK5, and 1st grade will be available on December 13th for those applicants that have completed the process by November 22.

*Students must be three years old by September 1 to be considered for admissions.

Admissions Criteria

Admissions to Country Day School is more competitive than ever. We review each applicant individually, considering the following criteria:

  • Average to superior intellectual abilities.
  • Ability to demonstrate age-appropriate developmental skills for students entering primary grades.
  • A/B average in each of the five core courses—English, math, science, history and foreign language.
  • Above-average grades in conduct and effort.
  • Good to superior teacher recommendations.
  • Achieve an above average admission test score using independent school norms.
  • Ability to demonstrate grade-appropriate writing skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate age-appropriate verbal responses in an interview setting.
  • Parents’ willingness to meet financial responsibilities.
  • MCDS complies with all federal and state laws prohibiting discrimination in its admission, employment, and administrative policies.
