Miami Country Day Tuition Questions

• At MCDS, we are focused on delivering an exceptional educational program, whether on-campus or online. A majority of the school’s expenses are fixed and, like other independent schools, we rely on tuition to attract and secure the best faculty, create and innovate curriculum, and maintain our campus to ensure the health and safety of our community for when we return. Despite our current context, we are committed to paying the salaries and benefits of our faculty and staff.

• At Miami Country Day School, lunch is part of the tuition to ensure peace of mind that every student can eat as much as they would like during their lunchtime. Other items that are not included in tuition, such as Junior and Senior parking spaces, bus transportation, and class trips are being evaluated by our business office for credits for the 2020-2021 school year or refunds if a student is graduating.

• We hope that no student would have to leave Miami Country Day due to this temporary financial impact that is affecting our families and our world. Most of our tuition goes into paying for our faculty and staff. We have other fixed costs to maintain a beautiful campus, but without our amazing teachers, Miami Country Day would not be what it is. Miami Country Day school is a non-for profit independent school and everything the school collects in tuition and annual giving dollars goes into providing the very best for your child’s education. We have helped families with payment plan options and thanks to the generosity of a family, we have established a Spartan Relief Fund to help families who are temporarily and severely impacted by COVID 19 with some tuition costs. • Afterschool Clubs: You have the option of receiving a full refund credited back to the card with which you paid or leaving the credit on your account for future club participation. Please email Betsy Kaplan at kaplanb@miamicountryday.org with your preference.

• Aquatics: You have the option of receiving a partial refund credited back to the card with which you paid or leaving the credit on your account for any future quarter of aquatics. Please email Eric Scheingoltz at Scheingoltze@miamicountryday.org with your preference.
